An old writer’s trick says that if you don’t know what to write, you’d write about your cats. But here’s a true story: feeding them inspired me to make this 5 Bell Peppers Paella! With five different forms of bell pepper.

Inspiration for this blog and the recipe for Malijano came when I went to a local International Food Market (South Bay’ers: go there!) to do the groceries for a cooking demo I was about to give that night. Besides the things on my shopping list, I also needed an idea for a small dish to demonstrate while my pilaf (not this one) was getting ready on the stove. A sore throat for days. Delusional dreams due to the cough syrup. But not really sick enough to cancel work. That’s how I struggled through the week. But the one dish I cooked at home this week found it’s way to the blog: Chicken veggie noodle soup with lots of ginger.
